CAST

Alan - JOE EYRE

Jane - RHIANNON SOMMERS

'Don't get me wrong, I know having a child always changes a person, especially when your daughter's a crocodile.'

Crocodile is a dark comedy about Alan and Jane, and their daughter Sarah.

Bringing up a child is always scary, but Alan is determined to be the best father he can be. He just has to make sure that Sarah's safe, has somewhere to swim, and, of course, that she has enough to eat.

The play began life as a 20-minute monologue which Joe Eyre wrote and performed as part of his final year at Guildhall. Soon after this, it was selected to open the first ever Pint-Sized, a quarterly evening of new writing that began at the Jermyn Street Theatre in 2015, and is now based at The Bunker. It was developed and directed by Matt Maltby, who is a genius and has worked with Joe many times. It has since been workshopped and  performed as part of a scratch night at The Rose Playhouse, where it received fantastic feedback, and was described by Wooden Overcoats creator David K. Barnes as 'deliciously funny and unsettling in equal measure'.

Crocodile is now a polished, finished, brand new one-act play for two actors. We've put together a fantastic team and we are delighted to announce Crocodile as Joyous Gard's first production, performing from 1st - 5th February as part of VAULT Festival 2017. More info to follow - see you there!
